A painted casket, South Germany or Italy, circa 1600 Rectangular wooden body with a cambered, hinged lid. All sides display flowers and vines painted on a green background. A crowned coat of arms in several colours on the lid. The lock with a rhomboidal escutcheon, and a hollow shaft key. The interior lined with partially worn red velvet. Dimensions 26 x 22 x cm.
