In the right corner are two poodles, French and foreign, named respectively Caniche and Pacha. In the middle, on the right, is the thoroughbred English bull-dog, who carried off the first prize; and on the left is a superb half-bred Newfoundland, named Pathos, which is certainly one of the finest animals in the exhibition. At the bottom we have a dog from the Pyrenees, a greyhound, and a very fine pair of briquets, named Brunette and Milord, belonging to the Count d'Estournelles'. From "Illustrated London News", 1870.
