The Sephirothic Tree, or Tree of Life, with the names set out in Latin and Hebrew, from Robert Fludd 'De praeternaturali utriusque mundi historia' [1621]. The tree is rightly portrayed as rowing downwards, with its roots in heaven. As this image is derived from Christian Cabala, the ten branches are linked with the celestial spheres in accord with the Christian nomenclature.
