Historical vintage AA Sentry Box. Scottish Borders. Scotland

Old AA Sentry Box car recovery telephone box near St Mary's Loch in the Scottish Borders. Once very valuable for the trouble without, they have become little used now most people have mobile phones. Originally intended to provide a base and shelter for a patrol-man between emergency calls. They later became call boxes for AA motoring club members to seek road-side shelter and assistance while waiting for that AA repair assistance.
