A hunting hanger, German, circa 1760 A heavy single-edged blade(pitted in places) with a double-edged point. Decorative etching in the upper quarter with scrolls and pictures of a stag and wild boar. There is a cartouche on the obverse side with the inscription "Jagen und Lieben Thut manchen betrüben" (Hunting and Love Cause Sadness to Many).
