The beauty of Africa captured in this sun lit picture. Maasai Mara, Kenya: THRILLING images of the Great Wildebeest Migration have been captured in Kenya as the migration starts its peak season in show the wildebeest migration on the banks of the Mara River, dusty and Great Migration is the ever-moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystemIt is the largest herd movement of animals on the planet. In fact, with up to 1,000 animals per km², the great columns of wildebeest can be seen from spaceThe numbers are astonishing: over million wildebeest and 300,000 zebras along with topi and other gazelle move in a constant cycle through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of nutritious grass and water. These images were captured by photographer Michael Stavrakakis (26) from Melbourne, Australia in Maasai Mara, used a combination of Sony Mirrorless Cameras, and 70-200 & 200-600 travelled to Kenya for this trip mainly in hope of witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration,? said this particular morning, we had waited for hours with a herd of wildebeest at the banks of the Mara River waiting for a leader to take a leap of faith and set the crossing into hours of waiting in the Sun, and with the jump of one daring wildebeest, the spectacle unfolded as the rest of the herd followed by throwing themselves down the embankment and across the clockwork, they slashed through the water and bottlenecked up the other side of the river and headed towards Tanzania? The wildebeest migration is something I have always wanted to witness, and something I have no doubt I will travel back to Kenya to photograph mediadrumimages/MichaelStavrakakis
