New York City Police Department photograph taken in 1933, of (left to right) Waxey Gordon, Hymie Pincus, and Albert Aront. Waxey Gordon (born Irving Wexler) was an infamous New York gangster. Born in 1888 to Polish-Jewish immigrant parents, he ran bootlegging and gambling outfits during Prohibition, and later an illegal drugs ring. He was convicted of tax evasion in 1933, and eventually arrested again in 1951 on drugs charges. He died in Alcatraz in 1952.
