The Missionary Tidings. When her hus-band was chosen as the first foreign missionary, shecame to China with him, undaunted by the atrocitiesand barbarous cruelties of the Boxer year. She wasthe first foreign lady to enter the city of Changsha,and she sufifered the hardships and privations thatsuch a course of action entailed. Everything that she undertook, whetherindustrial, educational or evangelistic work, was madesubservient to the one aim and purpose of her life,namely, to bring Christ to the women of China.
