Looking eastwards from the coastal path to Llanbadrig church and Ynys Badrig in late afternoon light.

One of the oldest ecclesiastical sites in Wales, and may date back to c AD440. Local tradition tells that the Romano- British St Patrick (Padrig), on his way to Ireland, was shipwrecked on Ynys Badrig islet, but got to land safely. After sheltering in a cave in the cliff below the churchyard and drinking from the adjacent Ffynnon Badrig holy well he recovered & founded the church in gratitude for his survival.
