Alonsoa linifolia, Roezl. This is a new,and said to be a very pretty Alonsoa, introducedby Roezl. The habit, as shown by the engrav-ing, is certainly very fine, and the flowers are alsogood. The plant is from twelve to eighteeninches in height, and the leaves are narrow andflax-like. It is said also to flower very scarlet. Alonsoa myrtifolia is introduced by thesame, as the name indicates, with leaves like the Myrtle. It is of more vigorous habit than theprevious one, and grows more than two feet in height. Very large flowers, of intense scarlet. 187.
