Nurse blood taking
Blood drawn from the arm by a nurse with a syringe. Protocol requires the nurse to wear protective gloves. In this illustration we see the nurse's handling as she draws the blood. This is the moment just after the bite. She holds the syringe to keep it from moving. At the same time, she pulls on the plunger to pump the blood. Beforehand, she loosened the tourniquet so that the blood circulates again in the arm. See illustration 5955 for an injection in the arm by a nurse.
