A chiselled Italian smallsword,Brescia,end of the 18th century. Slender,triangular Colichemarde blade with the upper third bearing etched,gilded vine and trophy decoration on a blued background. The maker's mark "W" is etched at the base of the blade. Asymmetrical,curved guard plate,finely cut with martial trophies surrounded with lattice and vine decoration. An engraved flange on the obverse side. Knucklebow hilt. Grip and pommel display finely chiselled,openwork decoration.
