Local middle schoolers build an insulated container to keep ice from melting while they tested it under three different types of heat during a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Expo Challenge at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, April 1, 2022. The Air Force STEM encourages Airmen to increase their technical abilities to better enable innovation and is committed to assure technologically superior war-fighting capabilities through attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining a world class STEM workforce.
