Prince William elser son elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and The Duchess of Cornwall,Camilla Parker Bowles, the wife of Prince Charles, in their barouche on the way from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Building, where they are going to watch the parade from the General Major's office, the room that was once used by the Duke of Wellington as his office. This photo was taken with a Canon 1D Mk IV and a Canon 600mm/f4 lens, the focus has been on the jacket of the Duchess of Cornwall, so she is shwon sharp whilst Prince Willam (most of his body covered by the Duchess of Cornwall) is slightly out of focus. "Trooping the Colour" is a traditional military ceremony going back to the 17th century. The "Colour" (the regimental flag) is presented (trooped) to the soldiers, so they could remember their flag, usually a rallying point, in the heat of battle. Since 1748 the parade also marks the official birthday of the British Sovereign, so it is "The Queen's Birthday Parade", held every second Saturday in June.
