In this shot the crowds watch "Old Faithful" geyser erupt in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. This geyser isn't the largest or highest geyser in the park but it is the most famous geyser. This park icon is one of the few geysers where eruptions can accurately be predicted. Old Faithful was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to receive a name. It is a thrill to watch and has become a favorite of many Yellowstone visitors. The geyser, as well as the nearby Old Faithful Inn, is part of the Old Faithful Historic District in Yellowstone National Park, WY.
