Holt and Louise was baptized Sept. 30, 1888, bySamuel Smedley, ordained to offices inthe Aaronic Priesthood and ordainedan Elder Dec. 6, 1900, by RichardStringham. He was ordained a Sev-enty Oct. 29, 1901, by Seymour , and a High Priest somewhatlater by Charles B. Felt. After serv-ing as a president of Y. M. M. I. A., BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA 215 Sunday school teacher and superinten-dent of Sunday schools in Weber Stake,he filled a mission to Great Britain in1901-1904, laboring in Scotland, wherehe served as a missionary and clerk of. a district. After his return from thismission he married Bessie Crosbie ofOgden, Nov. 22, 1904, in the Salt LakeTemple. This marriage has been bless-ed with nine children, namely, Wil-liam F., Forrest C, Helen Louise, Gor-don C, George Albert, Dale C,Dorothy Alice, Bettie Jean and Max-ine Joan. Three sons (William, For-rest and Gordon) have filled honorablemissions to Germany. As a boy Bro. Holt attended schoolin Bountiful and the L. D. S. Collegein Salt Lake City, and also assisted hisfather in farming and market gar-dening. He was employed for a timeby the Wright Mercantile Companyof Ogden, and later, becoming asso-ciated with the O.
