It was not aquestion of getting near enough,but rather of catching a goodpose and of getting one bird outalone or all of them in the sameplane so they would all be in goodfocus. Always active, with littlejerky moves, the Red-backs wentabout probing in the soft mud orwading out in the shallow water and sometimes swimming a little.
