Snout rounded, a little shorter than eye, which is 3 times in length of Fig. n;. Barbus miolepis. nolepis. Type (A. M. C). J. head and equals interorbital width ; mouth small, terminal ; lips moderate ; two barbels on each side, anterior as long as eye, posterior a little longer. Dorsal III 8, equally distant from eye and from root of caudal, border slightly concave ; last simple ray strong, bony, serrated, nearly as long as head. Anal III 5, not reaching caudal. Pectoral nearly as long as head, reaching ventral; base of latter below anterior rays of dorsal. Caudal peduncle \\ times as long as deep. Scales radiately serrated, 23 f,, 2 between lateral line and ventral, 12 round caudal peduncle. Olive above, silvery beneath ; a blackish lateral band from gill-cover to root of caudal. Total length 70 millim.
