This fascinating map, drafted by the Civil Engineer Sir Alexander Binnie in his capacity as Chief Engineer of London County Council, shows the development to date and proposed London Underground lines. Deep level Underground lines constructed, in progress and authorised to the date of the map are shown in blue, while those proposed are shown in red. Deep lines proposed but never built include a line running from Hammersmith to the City along High Street Kensington, a line from Paddington to Oval, and another from Victoria to Fulham.
