Second Sino-Japanese War, 1937-1945. The ruins of the Commercial Press following the Battle of Shanghai, August to November 1937. During both the January 28th Incident of 1932 and the Battle of Shanghai in 1937 the Commercial Press was used as a fortification for Chinese troops due to its sturdy construction and suffered heavy bombardment from Japanese forces.
