This is Fitzgeralds Hut in the Alpine Nat Park. It is situated in the Bogong High Plains near Falls Creek, Victoria, Australia.
This is typical of a series of huts that were built to provide shelter for the cattlemen when they herded their animals in the high country of the Victorian Alpine Region. This particular hut, known as Fitzgerald Hut is situated about twenty kilometres from the Falls Creek Ski Village and is only accessible by bushwalking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. The original hut was burnt down by bush fires in the 1990's but rebuilt because of its importance to the graziers and because of its significance to the Australian High Country Folklore.
