Lt. j. g. Leah Hammaker, an active-duty registered nurse assigned to the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command from Portsmouth, Va., works in the emergency department at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, Feb. 8, 2021. This is Hammaker’s second COVID-19 relief mission, and she is currently working as an emergency department nurse for Hendrick Medical Center. Northern Command, through Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the whole-of-government COVID-19 response.
