Carnations and roses are in heavy sup- ply and it takes some hustling on the part of the wholesalers to move them out. Last week was good all around and the retailers were kept busy, and those that had business could get a fine grade of stock at low prices. The week ended with the carnations all cleaned up and the roses down to a point where there was no cause for worry about their cleaning up Sun- day morning. This market seems to have more short roses than any other grade, and it is surprising, considering the amount of stock grown and the trade calling for better grades right along, that some of the rose growers do not produce some longer stock. Sweet peas are arriving in grand shape and are popular. There is a steady call for these and Friday, Saturday and Sun- day it seemed that every lady in the city wore a corsage, either of roses, peas or short Beauties. This is cer- tainly pleasing to the florists here, as they have worked hard to get the peo- ple into this habit and it seems as though they have succeeded. Tulips, daffs and hyacinths are a glut in the market, as are Easter and calla lilies. There is little
