The Manjushri Kadampa Peace Temple, also known as the Kadampa World Peace Temple, is the location of the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre. The Temple is in the grounds of Conishead Priory near Ulverston, Cumbria. The Temple was the first to be built as part of the International Temples Project and was designed and built by residents and volunteers over a period of three years under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It was opened in July 1997. The Kadampa Temple is not regarded as an ordinary building but as a holy object that will be a place of spiritual inspiration and peace for many generationa to come. The "Precious Victory Banner" symbol is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols, showing how to progress along the spiritual path. The "Precious Victory Banner" symbol enjoins the person to " Be victorious over the enemy of your delusions".
