Early morning crowd watching 'Today Show' below American Flags, NBC News Studios, wet pavings Rockefeller Plaza, New York City

The 'Today' Show is filmed live in the Rockefeller Centre and airs on NBC every morning of the week. Crowds regularly gather outside to watch the show and maybe get on TV themselves. The show is broadcast weekdays 7am- 11am, this view being taken on a wet morning. Gathering crowds may catch glimpses of anchors Anne Curry and Natalie Morales. They may watch filming in action and may be on TV themselves as the cameras pan across the crowd outside at commercial breaks. Some segments of the show are filmed outside. Midtown Manhattan's 1930s Rockefeller Centre is one of the world's biggest business complexes. It comprises 19 Art Deco buildings over an area of 22 acres. Philanthropist Rockefeller, building it to house the TV and radio industry, called it 'Radio City'. 'Today' moved to its current streetside studio in June 1194, the 1a Rockefeller Centre Studio being renovated for HD broadcasting in 2006. Here we view the studios, across West 49th Street, from the pedestrianised Rockefeller Plaza in front of the GE Building.
