The development ofbreadth is still more inhibited it, in addition to the sagittalsuture, there is also an obliteration of another suture runningin a sagittal direction, the parietotemporal suture, and its an-terior continuation, the sphenoparietal and sphenofrontal su-tures. Such a skull is called leptocephalic (narrow head) orclinocephalic (saddle-head). In the skull base the narrowness and great length of thefossae as well as the diminution of the angle formed by the twopyramids, are very striking. The facial skeleton shows occa-sionally a more prominent and narrower upper jaw, so thatthere occur anomalies in the position of the teeth. The frequency of scaphocephaly is less than that of tu
