The last remaining Blackburn B 2 on the UK Civil register is curretly grounded at Brough after her CoA exired on 30/6/2005. A Blackburn B-2 Series 1, G-AEBJ c/n 6300/8, "is awaiting a decision from the companys heritage department on proceeding with recovering her fabric sections and an inspection of her structure utilising modern methods." acording to a B AE Sokesperson, The aircraft is powered by a Gypsy Major 1F and was first registered from new in 1936. By 2003 she had accumulated some 3,740 hours. The BLACKBURN B-2 first flown in 1932 featured a cockpit with side-by-side seating a monocoque fuselage and fabric-covered wings. 42 aircraft where built for pilot training at civilian Elementary and Reserve Flying Schools under the RAF expansion scheme. In 1942 the surviving 26 aircraft where transferred to Air Training Corps squadrons as instructional airframes. Photograph May 1993 Dave BIllinge
