Large wading bird with long laterally flattened chisel tipped red bill. Sexes are alike. This wader is looking for Mollusks,crabs,marine worm etc. Can hear this wader coming from a very long away when calling. Has a dark back,white belly, large white wing and tail patches. When feeding appears to be quite tame. Note: Flesh coloured legs.
