Looking over the edge into the deepest part of the caldera. White Island / Whakaarian Volcano, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. You can see part of the edge in the lower right of the photo. During times of considerable rain this area is filled with water. Only a small amount of water (green) at the time we visited.
