Old advert for a cast iron garden seat designed by Edward Bawden. Edward Bawden (1903–1989) was an English painter, illustrator and graphic artist, known for his prints, book covers, posters and garden metalwork furniture. Bawden lived in Great Bardfield, Essex and was an important member of the Great Bardfield Artists. This group of local artists were diverse in style. For the Festival of Britain in 1951, he created a mural, English Country Life. The seat was made by Bilston Foundries of Bilston, Staffordshire. The advert appeared in a magazine in 1956 - vintage nineteen fifties graphics for editorial use only.
