Grey challenged Southampton to a duel. Southampton refused. Grey’s attack took place in January 1601. The ringleaders were Richard of Conisburgh, Edmund of Langley, and Henry Scrope. Richard, Scrope, and Grey were arrested.

Grey’s attack took place in January 1601. The three ringleaders were Richard of Conisburgh, 3rd Earl of Cambridge, Edmund of Langley, and Henry Scrope, 3rd Baron Scrope of Masham. Richard, Scrope, and Grey were arrested.
