Leyendecker, the marketing and public affairs Marine at Recruiting Station Buffalo, NY, leads his group of boys in a set of push-ups during the annual New York American Legion Boy's State at the State University of New York, Morrisville, June 24, 2013. Leyendecker, a 26-year-old native of Rochester, Minn., also attended Boy's State in 2012. Boy's State is a week-long civics and government camp for incoming high school seniors sponsored by the American Legion designed to give participants a better understanding of American governance and introduce them to the Marine Corps. Marines from RS Albany, RS New York, and RS Buffalo, volunteer their time to assist the American Legion during Boy's State each year.
