The length of the down- turned beak is variable. The large avicularia are uncommon. The ovicells much resemble some of those of C. latus var. aspera (Fig. 50 B), but have not been seen to proceed to the thickened roughened stage in which the reticulation is obliterated. In other respects this form resembles C. retifortnis rather than C. latus.
