Hore Abbey in the Irish countryside in County Tipperary, near Cashel Ireland. The abbey is the ruins of a 13th century Cistercian foundation dating from 1272. It is the last medieval Cistercian monastery remaining in Ireland. Hore Abbey was colonized by monks from Mellifont Abbey and comprised of a church, tower, cloister and living quarters. Today it rests in the countryside just west of Cashel near the town's more famous historical remnant, the Rock of Cashel.
