In 1891the Northwestern Lutheran College Associa-tion was incorporated and a school styledConcordia College was started at record made by Prof. Aaker at the ANill-mar sensinary was well known and the of-ficers of the new school were very anxious tosecure liis services. Concordia College is oneof the most prosperous i)rivate schools inthe Northwest and much of the successof the school is due to the system in-augurated by Professor Aaker. In politicalmatters he is known as a Prohibitionist andhe has taken an active part in the work ofthe party. While located at Twin Valley liewas the party nominee for county superin-tendent of schools and lost by a narrow mar-gin in a county where his party had but asmall jiart of the vote. In 1893 he was theProhibition candidate for secretary of the spring of 1900 the business men ofMoorhead requested Prof. Aaker to becomea candidate for mayor. The city had beenfor many years the dumping ground of thediinking element of Fargo, N. D.
