Also the Gos-pel was preached twice each day, and theLords Supper celebrated on the adult persons were baptized and receivedinto the Church, and three infants were pre-sented for baptism, as the result of a sermonon infant baptism, and eleven new applicantswere placed on probation. Twenty-two inall, with an inquirers class of most cases husbands and wives have ap-plied at the same time. A more encouragingpoint than this could hardly be found even inthe Lao Land. BETTER FIFTY YEARS OF CHRIST THAN CENTURIESOF BUDDHISM. Street work in Bangkok has also beenpushed with great energy during the past fewmonths. A gambling house became a chapeland house of prayer, where audiences of twoor three hundred, attracted from the streets,have heard the pure Gospel two or threetimes each week. They have heard exhorta-tions, sermons, practical talks, the explana-tion of stereopticon views, Gospel singing,etc. Other city work has been successfullyconducted, numerous preaching tours havebeen made into various parts of the country,and thousands of copies of portions of theScriptures, and tracts have been mo
