Display of medieval heraldry on "Micklegate Bar", City Walls, York, North Yorkshire, England, UK.

Micklegate Bar was the main gate of the original four in the city's medieval walls and as a result Richard of York's head was displayed here in 1460 to 1461, and those of the Jacobite rebels in 1746. The walls date mainly from the 14th century reign of King Edward III.
