5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (Jan. 20, 2013) An E-2C Hawkeye from the Golden Hawks of Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 112 and an F/A-18E Super Hornet from the Tophatters of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 14 launch from the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). John C. Stennis is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions for Operation Enduring Freedom.
