POTATOES. Potatoes are the main standby vegetable, and every- body uses them every day the year around, yet many farm- ers do not raise enough for their own use, or many use a very inferior quality. The great trouble lies in the fact that potatoes run out very readily and cannot be planted year after year without a change of seed; nor can they be grown successfully on the same ground more than two years in succession, which necessitates changing the -ground frequently. Many farmers pay no attention to these things, and il the season is a little off the crop is a failure and Mr. Farm- er has to buy; he usually pays a good price for them.
