North eastern corner of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works from north side of courtyard. Large concrete arches of outdoor corridor stretch in L shape around the building. Balcony above partially obscures second story with small red tile roofed tower rising above reached by a concrete staircase with buttress pillars leading up to the tower. Grassy courtyard in Pottery and Tile Works is a unique poured concrete building designed and built by Henry Mercer during the Art and Crafts movement. It reflects the Spanish influence on mission architecture and was completed in 1912. It produced hand made tiles and mosaics for floors, walls and ceilings. Now a National Historic Landmark it is maintained as a working "working history" museum still producing a few limited decorative ceramic tiles.
