D. (Dirk) van der Wal. Born in Zuidland on July 14, 1917. Died in England. Date unknown. Posted after the command training at No 2 Dutch Troop. During operation Market Garden classified by the 101st US Airborne Division and landed by Glider in the Son area (North Brabant) and involved in combat operations. During the Operation Infatuate landed in November 1944 at Vlissingen. After the war at the Bloemenendaal Stormschool promoted to officer. In 1947 with honorable dismissal.
