People gathered on Tuesday on Pilsudski Square for the 8th anniversary of the Smolensk place crash which killed 92 high level government officials including then president and brother of current, de facto leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Lech Kaczynski. A controversial monument in remembrance of the victims has been revealed on the Square which has been criticized as defaming the Square which was built in honour of the de facto leader of the second Polish republic Jozef Pilsudski.
