A banquet and business meeting of the association was held at the Woman 's Club Tuesday night, July 25. The asso elation was welcomed by Simms Jamie- son, secretary of the Chamber of Com merce, who spoke of the beauty of tlic florists' profession in its appeal and close touch to human hearts. Mr. .lamiesoii was ])reseiited with the bcaiiti ful basket of pink gladioli and roses and ferns that adorned the table. The re- sponse was made by Mr. Hibbard. Mr. Buseck spoke in behalf of I'm' Florists' Telegraph Delivery Associa tion and Mr. Wholey presented tlio proposition of the state fair exhibit. The association voted to make a con trihiitioii to the Anna Jarvis memorial fund for the oriijinator of Mothers' day. It was voted that each niemljcr shoulil write his congressman protesting against the j)assage of H. R. 8441, which would eliminate sj)ccial delivery on parcel post fiackages.
