Columbus, O.—The San Pedro De- velopment Co., of this place, organ- ized as a nursery, orchard and vege- table garden company, has incorpor- ated with a capital stock of .? The incorporators are A. McAlister, A. S. W. Huffman, J. L. Baker, Frank N. Hammond and Fred M. Hammond. American Apples In Germany. American apples find high favor in Frankfort, the best known being those grown in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and embracing Baldwins, Green- ings and Kings. Western apples do not seem to be so well known, al- though where introduced their reputa- tion is very high. Wholesale dealers prefer to obtain their supplies of American apples from importers in Hamburg and Bremen. Where apples are not carefully packed for through shipment they can be re-sorted at port of arrival and repacked for shipment to inland points, insuring a minimum loss on account of spoiling.—Daily Consular and Trade Reports. Fruit Growing: In Australia. Inasmuch as Australia grows fruit at a season of the year when practic- ally no other country produces this commodity, it is but natural that this industry, to which the southern states of the commonwealth are so well adapted, should grow rapidly and the exports figure prominently in the country
