Koljl Bolgiano's High-Bred American-Grown Cabbage Seed Will Produce the Best Crop You Have Ever Grown No vegetable is of greater importance to the market gardener than the Cabbage, and to many growers the success or failure of this crop means gain or loss for the year. Cabbage seed, therefore, is the last seed in the list to buy because it is cheap. Much of the seed sold at a low price is imported from European countries where, owing to the climate, it produces large quantities of seed; but it is practically worthless in America. We CTercise exceptional care in growing and selecting our Cabbage seed. Soilfor Cabbage should be rich and heavy loam, with good drainage. On such a soil, with an abundance of stable manure, excellent crops are sure to be grown. For early Spring sow in Fall, not too early, or the plants are liable to bolt in the Spring, instead of heading. In a month the plants will be fit to transplant to cold frames where they are wintered, taking care in planting to set the young plants down to the first leaves. Transplant in Spring as soon as the ground can be worked, setting the plants 2 feet apart one way and from 12 to 18 inches the other, according to the variety.
