These stakes of course areintended merely to support the side form to theproper elevation, other stakes being driven in theregular way for the purpose of holding the forms in MAKE AND HOW TO USE CONCRETE 101 line. It will be seen also that the joints in the sideforms are staggered to prevent a wave being formedacross the road in case form joints are low. The next sketch shows details of wood side formconstruction. The angle iron cap shown extends sixinches beyond the end of the form to insure thatadjacent forms are maintained at the same eleva-tion. A slight modification of this is shown in thenext sketch. This method will prevent bending ofangles if forms are handled roughly. Proper placingof side forms involves a little more expense than thecareless placing that is altogether too
