It is called the Monastery, by thepeople, and is variously known as the Abbey, and the Priory of St. Saviour. Itis the most interesting of the detached buildings outside of the group near thelake; and is perhaps architecturally the finest, as it was evidently the most exten-sive of all the edifices in this region. It consisted originally of two parallelbuildings, of rare and beautiful workmanship, adorned with curious sculptures, ofwhich only detached fragments are now attainable.
