A splendid cut flintlock shotgun, Peter Utterberg Norrköping/Sweden, dated 1741. Smoothbore Damascus barrel in mm calibre with a silver bead. Signed "UTTERBERG NORKLÖPING 1741" in gold on the barrel rib. A seated female figure with the Swedish coat of arms in marvellous cut relief over gold background on the breech, behind a vacant escutcheon framed in rocaille. Finely chiselled, gold-inlaid flintlock with another signature. The frizzen bears a cut grotesque mask in relief.
