Cutler was born in Vernon, Vt., on the 7thof April, 1837. His grandfather, Thomas Cutler, was anative of Guilford, Vt., and was born on the 24th of May,1774. His great-grandfather, whose name was also Thomas,was a native of Paxton, Mass., and removed to Guilford,Vt., where he and his brothers were the first Cutler, his father, was born in Wilmington, Vt., onthe 18th of March, 1804.
