On the occasion of Judge Daviss retirement from thebench, after fifteen years of service, a banquet in hishonor was given by the Meadville Bar. Letters were readfrom eminent men who could not be present, and speecheswere made by many jurists and lawyers. All united, aswith one heart and voice, in speaking in highest termsof praise of the unsullied record which Judge Davis hadmade.
